One of the best things you can do to keep your family safe is eliminating toxic cleaning products from your home. Most of us don’t give much thought to the products we buy, but many of these can be harmful. It’s simple to clean your home with non-toxic products if you know what to look for. Here are some simple changes you can make to keep your home safer and cleaner:

Switch to an ammonia-free glass cleaner.

A good glass cleaner can be a great multi-purpose product. It can get windows and mirrors squeaky clean.  It can be also be used to clean bathroom and kitchen countertops, stainless steel appliances and even electronics too. Most traditional glass cleaners contain ammonia, which is irritating to the skin and can cause respiratory problems when inhaled. Take a few minutes to find ammonia-free glass cleaners next time you shop. These are much safer and get your surfaces just as clean.

Choose all natural multi-purpose cleaners.

Multi-purpose cleaners are often used on stovetops and countertops… which are also the same places we prepare food. For this reason, it’s important that the cleaners can effectively clean the area, but it’s just as important (if not more) that they are non-toxic and non-hazardous. Therefore, be certain to choose products that are labeled as either ‘natural’ or ‘non-toxic.’ Additionally, multi-purpose cleaners can save you money as you won’t need to buy a different cleaner for each room or surface in your home.
